Program Overview:
To qualify for the South Carolina Real Estate Broker’s License or to become a Broker In Charge, candidates must have held an active South Carolina Real Estate Salesperson license for at least five consecutive years. The licensing process mandates the completion of two key courses: Broker A and Broker B.
Broker A Course (Unit III-A): This 30-hour mandatory course delves into brokerage management, focusing on the intricacies of establishing and running a real estate office in South Carolina. Topics covered include risk reduction, ethics, marketing strategies, strategic planning, policy manual development, insurance considerations, trust account management, and financial budgeting. Notably, this course does not require an exam upon completion.
Broker B Course (Unit III-B): Serving as the second essential component for broker licensing, this 30-hour course addresses the fundamental aspects of real estate. Participants will explore real property law, federal housing regulations, property valuation techniques, appraisal processes, agency relationships, contract law, real estate finance, licensing laws, pertinent federal and state legislation, as well as real estate mathematics and closing procedures. An exam is administered at the conclusion of this course to assess comprehension and readiness.
